Why should you choose us?
The best reason to choose us as your breeder is our commitment to raising well-rounded, healthy puppies that fit seamlessly into your family. We carefully plan our litters to ensure each puppy is an excellent match for their future home. Additionally, we provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the process, ensuring you feel confident and prepared as a new pet parent. Our dedication to the well-being of our puppies and the satisfaction of our clients makes us a trustworthy and reliable choice.
How does the choosing process work?
Once you have chosen us as your preferred breeder, we recommend you get on our waiting list. The more you know about what you want in a dog, the better we can help you choose the right one when it arrives. Behaviors exhibited during weeks 3 to 6 provide important information about what kind of dog it will become.
It is helpful for us to understand what is most important to you when helping you choose a puppy. This differs in every situation, and we do our best to accommodate your wishes when helping you get the right puppy. We understand that you may want blue eyes and a specific coat color. We can help you with that. We often have variety in our litters. We believe that behavioral traits are critical because if you want a laid-back dog, they are a different kind of puppy. With over 20 years of experience with Siberian Huskies as family members, we've seen it all, from the laid-back rarity to the sassy dogs that cause mischief whenever they can. Our expertise will guide you in making the right choice.
What should I bring with me to pick up my new puppy?
At pickup, you'll meet your new puppy and take them home. We recommend bringing a new small collar, a leash, and paper towels. If your trip home is longer than four hours, bring a bowl for water during stops. Pickup times are scheduled close together for efficiency, so please try to arrive on time. This day is exciting for everyone, and we're here to ensure it's as smooth as possible for you and your new furry friend!
What is included in your contract?
The contract from Homegrown Huskies includes a spay/neuter agreement, requiring that puppies be spayed or neutered before 10 months of age. We believe simplicity is vital because this is about you adding a member of our family to yours. Our end goal is happy people with a happy puppy.
Can I visit prior to picking a puppy?
We always recommend meeting our puppies in person before you choose. We also know that is not always a possibility. Driving to the farm for a visit is an opportunity to meet us, our pack, and all of the prospective puppies. We want to make sure you are picking the best fit for your family and lifestyle. Visits are by appointment only. We do our best to accommodate all requests, and some seasons are much busier than others.
How does the waiting list work?
When you join our waiting list by placing a deposit, you will be contacted when a litter is born. We will provide you with photos and information on each puppy, and you will have until the puppies are two weeks old to choose or decline the litter. Although we do not require a deposit to be on the contact list, individuals who are paid members with a deposit will be given priority over those on the list who have not placed a deposit. Please note that deposits are non-refundable for any reason.
What makes our puppies so great?
Our puppies are born in a temperature-controlled building under close supervision, but we aren't overly attentive. Every dame is chosen for their mother's characteristics when raising a litter. We only intervene when necessary, rarely after a new mother has had puppies for the first time. We practice Early Neurological Stimulation with our puppies once their mothers are comfortable with us handling their babies. We choose our pairings based on temperament and build to have well-rounded puppies suited for most lifestyles. We take pride in placing the right puppy with the right person.
What is Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)?
Early neurological stimulation (ENS) refers to a series of exercises performed on puppies during the early stages of their development, typically from day 3 to day 16 after birth. These exercises involve handling and exposing the puppies to mild stressors for short periods, such as gently holding them in different positions and stimulating their paws with a damp cloth. ENS is designed to enhance the puppies' stress tolerance, improve cardiovascular performance, and boost their overall resilience and adaptability, leading to well-adjusted and confident adult dogs.
